Press Technical Team Lead Operator | Summary of Job Duties

The Technical team lead is responsible to assist the Shift Supervisor in the overall operation of his or her assigned shift. The primary responsibility is to keep the machines running at the highest level of proficiency and accuracy possible. The Technical Leader is responsible for having a working understanding of flexographic printing presses the have the ability to coach employees on its operation, as well as communicate to people the basic functions of the machinery. Duties include (but are not limited to)

  • Work directly with the machine operators.
  • Train employees when needed.
  • Utilize troubleshooting skills and techniques.
  • Help implement changes in the process.
  • Help maintain the product quality by performing quality checks.
  • Teach troubleshooting skills to operators.
  • Assist supervisor by making sure all materials, paperwork and next order are staged and ready for the machine operator.
  • Help the supervisor with daily production reporting when asked by the supervisor.
  • Assist the supervisor whenever needed.
  • Provide input to the supervisor as to the progression of the operators to equipment.
  • Set the example for the shift to follow in areas such as attitude, sense of urgency, cooperation, and relationship with other employees, leads, supervisors and managers.

Wage

  • Based on experience

Hours:

  • A-Shift: Monday – Thursday | 6am – 6pm
  • B-Shift: Monday – Thursday | 6pm – 6am
    • Shift Differential: $2/hour
  • C-Shift: Friday, Saturday and Sunday | 6am – 6pm
    • Attendance Incentive: time and a half Saturday and double time Sunday
  • D-Shift Friday, Saturday and Sunday | 6pm – 6am
    • Attendance Incentive: time and a half Saturday and double time Sunday
    • Shift Differential: $1/hour on top of the attendance incentive

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ Years of experience training and/or leading a team
  • 5+ Years of experience operating a flexographic printing press
  • Excellent communication, organizational and multi-tasking skills to communicate and coordinate effectively with internal personnel.
