We also offer products and services (vials, ampules, stoppers, septa, seals, caps, bottles, tubes, flasks, and value-added services) to customers seeking packaging solutions.Company revenue is generated through four primary channels: Global distributors, National distributors, Direct field selling efforts, and online sales.DWK supports four primary market segments: Laboratory, Pharmaceutical, Analytical Sciences, and Industrial glass.POSITION SUMMARY:This position assembles products, partially or completely, working at a bench on the shop floor or in clean room environment. The position assembles products to meet required specifications. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Electrical and mechanical assembly of laboratory equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of DWK business, products, systems and operations.
  • Fits and assembles parts or machines into complete assembly.
  • Packaging, palletizing and labeling finished product for stock.
  • Test operation of unit(s) to ensure functionality and performance. Work with production lead/supervisor on the production sign-off and documentation of records.
  • Downloads software as required for assembly of product and performs computer testing of unit to specifications.
  • Review manufacturing order for quantity, operation steps, testing and inspection steps.
  • Review manufacturing blueprints and manufacturing orders for correctness. Work with production lead/supervisor on any issues found to correct errors on blueprints, BOM's and routings.
  • Confer with Production Supervisor or Warehouseman on overruns of parts and shortages.
  • Confer with Production Supervisor/Lead, Repair Department, Engineering and Quality Department to resolve assembly issues and defective material issues.
  • Promotes safe working habits and encourages proper housekeeping methods.
  • Confers with Production Supervisor/lead on troubleshooting issues as needed.
  • Promotes safety awareness among associates through training to ensure a safe and healthy environment withing the company policy guidelines. Supports EHS initiatives.
  • Responsible for notifying Team Leader or Production Manager of continuous improvements that can be made in the assembly process.
  • Responsible for notifying Team Leader or Production Manager of any Lean improvements or techniques that can be implemented on the shop floor.
  • Responsible for improving and maintaining production efficiencies.
  • Work withing the ISO, EHS and Company policies.
  • Understand the DWK Quality Policy and relevant Quality Objectives.
  • Recognize their contribution to the effectiveness of the QMS, including the benefits of improved performance.
  • Comprehend the impact or effect of not conforming with the QMS.
  • Observe all safety precautions, rules, and regulations. Maintains work area in a clean and safe manner.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • HS diploma, GED or military equivalent required
  • One (1) year light manufacturing environment preferred
  • Mechanical and electro-mechanical knowledge
