Lube Technician Classification Non-Exempt Job SummaryThe Lube Technician is responsible for the various Bay Duties. They will move the vehicle into and out of the bay area safely, and perform visual inspection while draining oil and replacing all relevant materials and parts. Essential FunctionsUpper Bay Duties Safely drive customer's vehicles and/or equipment into and out of the bay area. Assist is complete check of vehicle and/or equipment. Ensure proper care is taken to prevent damage to customer's vehicle and/or equipment. Vacuum complete interior of the vehicle and discard trash. Thoroughly clean exterior windows. Check and communicate initial oil level. Determine, communicate, and physically verify correct oil filter application. Check and adjust all tire levels onvehicle to proper inflation level. Check, communicate, and fill necessary fluids and replace all caps. Add oil, start vehicle, check oil pressure gauge, and check oil dipstick. Lower Bay Duties Complete under vehicle inspection. Remove oil drain plug, loosen and remove oil filter, wipe mounting plate, and check filter spindle. Inspect oil drain plug and gasket; replace if necessary. Wipe fittings and lubricate. Check and fill gearboxes. Report under vehicle status to upper bay. Observe undercarriage of vehicle to ensure no leaks. Perform lower bay quality inspection. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Previous experience in servicing equipment and/or vehicles preferred. Valid driver's license and personal automobile insurance required. Travel RequirementsLittle to no travel required. Environmental ConditionsEmployee regularly works indoors around moving mechanical parts. May be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times. Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high speed rotating equipment. Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment. Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or high places. The Lube Technician must perform the essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation efficiently and accurately, and without causing significant safety threat to self or others.
