Basic Job Functions:
* Conduct routine Quality Inspections and Audits throughout production to assess and report on both product and process adherence to First Solar specifications and standards (incoming, in-process, and finished goods).
* Provide guidance and training on those specifications and standards as the Quality Representative to Production and Engineering.
* Participate in multi-functional teams to define and implement corrective/preventive actions and continuous improvement activities.
Education/Experience:
* High School Diploma or GED required.
* 2 years of Postsecondary studies, Associate's Degree, or Professional Certification (Technical Field preferred) or 5yrs related Quality Experience required.
* Bachelor's Degree highly preferred
* ASQ Certification (CMI, CPT, CQA) desired
* 2 years experience in manufacturing environment required
* 2 years experience within ISO 9001 (or equivalent) Quality System desired
Required Skills/Competencies:
* Critical thinking skills.
* Mechanical Aptitude to understand, measure, and monitor various process and product variables.
* Ability to collect and report data from varied sources.
* Ability to define and effectively communicate observations and problems (verbally and in writing).
* Keen attention to detail.
* Self-motivated, yet able to actively participate in and support multi-functional teams.
* Experience using various precision tools (micrometers, gage blocks, calipers, microscopes).
* Proven computer skills (Word and Excel required; JMP a plus).
Essential Responsibilities:
* Complete day-to-day duties and responsibilities under minimal supervision.
* Inspect incoming, in-process, and finished material; and disseminate reports efficiently and effectively to facilitate timely decisions by Engineering, Production, and Quality.
* Monitor and audit Manufacturing Processes and Equipment against Core Documentation (PFD, PFMEA, CP, WI) and report discrepancies.
* Execute Quality Management Systems and Record Keeping per First Solar Policy and ISO Standards.
* Interface with other departments, supplier, customer, and third-party representatives as required.
* Adhere to all safety procedures and good housekeeping standards.

* Reports to Plant Quality Engineer.
* This position will not have direct reports.
Travel:
* 0% - 5% (On occasion/as needed for training, etc.)
Estimated Hourly Range:
* $17.16 - $23.00 per hour

* Will lift up to 58 pounds on an occasional basis, according to work instruction.

* Will push or pull up to 27 pounds of force on an occasional basis.
* Will push or pull up to 10 pounds of force on a frequent basis.
* Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects repetitively on a frequent basis.
* 20/40 vision in each eye (with or without correction) and the ability to distinguish between red, yellow, and green is required.
* May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
* May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.
* Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
* Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including, but not limited to; steel toed shoes, cut resistant gloves, jackets, aprons &/or arm guards, safety glasses, hearing protection).
