Technology Scout - Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited : Job Details

Technology & startup scouting:

1、Evaluate trends in climate technology. Focus on those relevant to CATL's current and future needs. You will focus on startup and innovation ecosystems.

2、You will visit startup companies and attend conferences and events to expand CATL's network while staying updated on the latest technology trends. You will build relationships with leading academics, technology transfer offices, startups, public funding agencies, incubators/accelerators, and venture capital firms.

3、Find and screen startups that align with the company's strategic goals and have a high potential for success.

4、Provide regular reports that map regional innovation trends and key startups using state-of-the-art tools to help identify investment opportunities.

Internal communication and technical due diligence:

1、Work closely with the Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) business unit by providing technical insights and supporting investment decisions.

2、You will participate in the due diligence process for potential investments, focusing on technical assessment in your area of expertise. You will be expected to work closely with the technical experts in CATL to assess new technologies and to align scouting efforts with the company's strategic objectives.

3、Provide detailed reports and presentations on scouting findings to technical leaders and the CVC business unit.

4、Assist in the negotiation and structuring of strategic partnerships and investments.

Strategic Insight:

1、Support the development of the company's technology and innovation strategy roadmap.

2、Identify and recommend strategic initiatives and partnerships to drive innovation and growth.

Qualifications

1、Master's degree in STEM or another field related to climate technology. A PhD is preferred.

2、Five years of experience in research, development, and innovation. Experience in publishing scientific manuscripts, technology transfer and intellectual property, including patent filing and landscape analysis.

3、Proven experience in technology scouting, innovation management, or a related role.

4、Ability to quickly understand emerging technologies and awareness of global market trends.

5、Excellent analytical, research, and critical thinking skills, with a curious and open mindset.

6、Business acumen, with a strong ability to create value for internal and external stakeholders.

7、Excellent written and oral presentation skills, with a strong ability to convey complex technical information to a non-technical audience. Strong knowledge of English is required; Mandarin and other languages are a strong plus.
