Technology Support Specialist - Fairfax County Public Schools : Job Details

DescriptionProvides all levels of information technology consulting, planning, support, and services to an assigned organizational unit; serves as the primary school/program technology leader; manages school local network, servers, and all associated technologies; plans, manages, and supports the configuration, deployment, and integration of all school/program technologies.QualificationsRequired

• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Two (2) years of experience in computer technology and applications.
  • Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience.
• Possession of appropriate, valid motor vehicle operator's license with a good driving record and employer-provided transportation required.
• Knowledge of principles, concepts, and methods of applicable computer technology and its most effective and efficient utilization.
• Knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, instructional technology requirements.
• Knowledge of standard microcomputer operating systems and the software used in a network environment.
• Knowledge of three or more microcomputer and network operating systems, and proficiency at a standard desktop, mobile, and communications applications and protocols.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
