DescriptionTorgeson Electric is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Telecom Technician to join our team.Job DescriptionThe ideal candidate will have experience with CAT 6 cables, fiber optics, and the construction of telecom/server rooms. This position requires a strong emphasis on craftsmanship and quality, as well as the ability to work with data cables and low voltage systems. • 2+ years of experience
• Hands-on experience with CAT 6 cables, fiber optics, and heavy data cabling.
• Proven ability to build and configure telecom/server rooms.
• Proficiency in testing and certifying telecom installations.
• Strong attention to craftsmanship and quality.
• Certifications are preferred but not required (e.g., Leviton, BICSI 1 or 2, or technician level).
• Basic electrical experience preferred but not required.
• Experience working with low voltage systems (e.g., door access control).
• Ability to effectively Communicate
• Follow safety policies and procedures at all times.
• PPE required for all duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test, and certify CAT 6 cables.
• Build out and configure telecom and server rooms.
• Perform fiber optic cabling and heavy data cabling tasks.
• Conduct thorough testing and certification of installed systems.
• Maintain a high level of craftsmanship in all work.
• Work with low voltage systems, including door access control (preferred but not required).
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure project timelines are met.
