Job Summary: Plans menus in accordance with patient dietary requirements, and general dietetic standards and regulations.
Essential Functions: • Assesses patients' health needs and diet. • Counsels' patients on nutrition issues and healthy eating habits. • Develops meal plans, taking both cost and clients' preferences into account. • Evaluates the effects of meal plans and change the plans as needed. • Writes reports to document patient progress.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Two (2) years of clinical experience and BLS certification preferred. Basic principle of nutrition, therapeutic diets, food safety and sanitation. Record keeping, interviewing, and counseling techniques. Nutrimental needs of all ages. The ability to incorporate knowledge of nutrition and metabolism into individualized nutrition care plan. Knowledge of State and Federal regulations related to nutritional care in a health institution. Medical terminology and clinical nutrition terminology. Relevant computer skills and generation of reports. Ability to communicate and interact effectively with patients, family, and staff. - Bachelor's degree from a Dietetic or Nutrition program- Required
- Completion of clinical training that meets the guidelines set by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (formerly American Dietetic Association).
- 2 Years experience- Required
