Job DetailsJob LocationManufacturing Facility - Dyersville, IAPosition TypeSeasonalJob Shift1st ShiftDescriptionSummaryThe successful candidate will work with the manager and greenhouse specialist team to care for a variety of leafy greens, strawberries, and tomatoes in an environmentally controlled hydroponic greenhouse.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assisting with a weekly seed sowing schedule
• Transplanting leafy greens, tomatoes, and strawberries into larger grow out systems
• Harvesting leafy greens, tomatoes, and strawberries
• Training and pruning tomato plants
• Pruning strawberry plants
• Washing grow rafts, totes, buckets, floors, tables, harvesting tools, etc. daily/weekly
• Maintaining a very clean growing environment, sweeping and shop vacuuming
• Assisting with end of crop clean out of tomato and strawberry bays
• Other duties as assigned or required

• Some knowledge and passion for hydroponic plant production (vine and leaf crops)
• Ability to follow a very high standard of procedures for our food safety program.
• Qualified applicants will also possess excellent communication skills, be self motivated and be a team player

Education and/or Experience

• Associate's degree
• Or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education, experience and training
• Must have the communication skills appropriate for the job
• Ability to follow detailed instructions

Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
