Job Description :
Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for performing all procedures related to assigned section and the laboratory in general. Recognizes and addresses conditions that affect test results. Interested individuals must have a bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical lab science or medical technology.This position works alone as the only Medical Laboratory Scientist on the night shift but has a laboratory assistant working with them that does most of all blood draws and specimen collections. The Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for performing all procedures, maintenance, QC, and assigned proficiency tests on that shift as well as any calibrations needing to be performed. This individual recognizes and addresses conditions that affect test results, reports critical values to the appropriate entity and documents such action, maintains a clean, neat work area and decontaminates area when needed, participates in continuing education programs, communicates with physicians, co-workers, and patients in a professional manner following all policies and procedures. Experience operating the following equipment would be very helpful: Beckman Coulter DxC 700 AU, Beckman Coulter Access 2, Sysmex XN 1000, Sysmex CA 660, Quidel Triage Meter, Siemens RP500, Nova Prime +, Siemens Clinitek Connect Status +, MedTox Scan, Biofire FilmArray Respiratory and GI panels, Abbott ID NOW Flu A&B, RSV, Covid-19, and Strep A, and Alcor mini iSED. We perform basic blood bank of ABO and Rh typing, Antibody Screening and Compatibility Testing and DAT's. Must be comfortable with performing and reporting out urine microscopy and manual differentials. Requirement description :
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical lab science or medical technology - Required
  • ASCP Certified MLS - Required
  • Able to work independently as a generalist - Required
  • Must be able to perform capillary, venous, and arterial blood draws if needed - Required
  • Must be comfortable with performing and reporting out urine microscopy and manual differentials
  • Experience operating the following equipment Beckman Coulter DxC 700 AU, Beckman Coulter Access 2, Sysmex XN 1000, Sysmex CA 660, Quidel Triage Meter, Siemens RP500, Nova Prime +, Siemens Clinitek Connect Status +, MedTox Scan, Biofire FilmArray Respiratory and GI panels, Abbott ID NOW Flu A&B, RSV, Covid-19, and Strep A, and Alcor mini iSED. - Highly Preferred
