Responsibilities

This high-level accounting position is responsible for performing complex reconciliations of loan system balances, including participation loans, with the corporate general ledger. The role demands precision in providing comprehensive month-end variance analyses between loan operations and the accounting department. This position requires advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel to optimize reconciliation processes, financial reporting, and data analysis, particularly with participation loan portfolios

Essential Responsibilities:

* Perform a reconciliation of the SilverLake loan system balances of participation loans, with the Corporate General Ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal financial controls

* Reconcile participation loan balances with external participants, ensuring the accuracy of the loan share amounts, payments, and distributions to partners

* Investigate and resolve complex discrepancies, including unposted items, participation loan variances, and GL discrepancies, applying advanced Excel skills to analyze data efficiently

* Reconcile all loan-related general ledger and deposit accounts daily, including participation loan accounts, clearing outstanding items through general ledger entries or processing loan payments/reversals as necessary

* Act as a liaison with departments, branches, and external participants to resolve financial exceptions, leveraging expert Excel techniques for troubleshooting and analysis

* Perform other reconciliation duties as needed, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial data across various accounts and systems

* Communicate with other departments/branches regarding exception issues as they arise

* Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to pertinent policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all training requirements in a timely manner

Ancillary Duties:

* As an integral member of the Loan Operations Department, this position will provide assistance wherever necessary to help the Loan Operations Department and the bank in achieving their annual goals.

* Cooperate with other members of the department to achieve departmental goals

* Perform other related duties as assigned or directed

Qualifications

Education, Training and Requirements:

* Associates Degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent relative work experience required

* Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred

* All applicants must be 18 years of age or older

Skills:

* Exceptional attention to detail with advanced analytical and problem-solving skills

* Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet strict deadlines, and work effectively under pressure

* Superior written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear documentation and collaboration across departments

* Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data modeling

Experience:

* Extensive experience in accounting, with a strong working knowledge of loan documentation and financial reconciliation processes

* Prior experience in financial services or banking industry preferred, with a focus on loan accounting

Other Job Information

Hours: Temporary position - Monday-Friday; 8:00-5:00

Compensation: Commensurate with experience plus potential for annual merit increase.
