Extra Help Services provides campus departments with skilled employees at various levels in the office professional, accounting, information technology (IT), and graphic design areas to meet various temporary needs in units across campus. Our goal at Extra Help Services is to provide departments with the best employees to meet their departmental needs.General Job Description:An Office Associateperforms high-level clerical duties. This employee might perform all the lower-levelduties while also independently composing correspondence and coordinating projects,meetings, and conferences. Actual job duties vary by position and will be discussedwith the candidate selected to fill the position.MinimumQualifications:Must be a minimumof 18 years old to apply. These positions arenot entry-level positions and require a higher level of skills and/orexperience that will be reviewed by our Extra Help ServicesOffice. The rate of pay is determined by the job descriptionsubmitted by the department.Work Schedule:We offer short or long-term assignments up to 900 hours, which is about 6-months of full-time work. Employees can work either full or partial days and full or partial weeks. Extra Help Positions:Extra Help employees are appointed to fulfill casual or emergent needs within units. The amount of time for which services are needed is not usually predictable and payment for work performed is on an hourly basis and based on actual hours worked. Extra Help employees do not receive holiday. As these roles are temporary/as needed, benefits are limited and basedon extra help hours worked at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Extra Help employees are required by State Universities Civil Service System rules to take a 30-calendar-day break after working 900 hours.
