YOU are an integral part of our team performing various maintenance functions across Pierce County. Some of those tasks include flagging, cleaning, landscaping, inventory management, construction work around manholes, concrete work, and road work. As an extra hire maintenance worker, you will enjoy a regular schedule Monday - Friday with occasional overtime. (The work will change to 4-10's for summertime, Monday to Thursday OR Tuesday to Friday.) You can count on Pierce County to provide PPE, tools, and a safe place to work. - Set up MUTCD compliant work zones for road maintenance crews.
- Serve as Washington state certified flagger safely guiding and directing traffic through work zones.
- Provide manual labor/support for traffic operations programs including pavement markings, raised pavement markers, roadway striping, and other duties as assigned in road maintenance.
- Maintain and safely operate small power tools and landscape equipment.
- Work is performed outside sometimes under adverse weather conditions.
- Work reporting location may vary depending on job site location.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- Prior experience using power tools is required.
