Job DescriptionThe Temporary Instrumentation Electronics Technician is responsible to repair and calibrate instrumentation and test equipment used in various test cells and laboratories at the Chrysler Technical Center.The Temporary Instrumentation Electronics Instrumentation Technician will diagnose problems associated with various industrial control systems and instruments used for process control and data collection. Examples of equipment includes high voltage systems, dynamometers, motor drives, instruments (torque, pressure, flow, and temperature), and general-purpose test and measurement equipment, etc.Further duties of the Instrumentation Temporary Instrumentation Electronics Technician will require working with engineers to maximize the available runtime of test cells. This includes the recommendation of modifications and root cause analysis. In addition to supporting test cells, the instrumentation technician will support our Metrology laboratory calibrating portable devices used throughout the engineering community.RequirementsRequired Qualifications:
- A minimum of Associate's Degree in Electronics Technology or military equivalent
- Some experience in troubleshooting/calibrating instrumentation and test equipment
- Significant experience using electronic diagnostic tools
- Motivated to work both independently and as part of a team (flexible to provide necessary support when required)
- Good communication skills are also required as the candidate will be interacting regularly with customers, the engineering support staff, and management
- Basic computer skills using MS Office
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience troubleshooting dynamometer problems in the test cell and at the associated drive
- A familiarity with Fluke's MET/CAL/TEAM software and ISO 17025 is desired
- Ability to program PLCs and troubleshoot PC issues is a plus
