Job Description :

The Departments of English, Philosophy and Religion is looking for administrative and clerical support to help with the day to day support of the departments. This position will work 30 hours per week starting at 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Education and Experience

* Associate's degree or equivalent preferred.

* Two plus years of office experience preferably in an academic environment.

Skills and Knowledge

* Solid understanding of Microsoft Office and Adobe Professional suite, with the ability to create and revise documents.

* Good oral and written communication skills.

* Solid interpersonal skills.

* Good organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-pace professional environment.

* Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with sensitive information.

* Knowledge of PeopleSoft or related system is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

* Perform administrative and clerical duties that require limited independent judgment yet some level of confidentiality.

* Maintain office supplies and equipment; order inventory items and arrange maintenance for office equipment.

* Maintain reception area for main office; answer phone and take messages, greet students, faculty and campus visitors; answer inquiries; open main office daily; restock copiers and supplies in mailroom daily; sort mail. Schedule meetings.

* Process disbursements for departments, and professors.

* Respond to general department inquiries. Forward inquiries to department representatives as appropriate.

* Other duties as assigned.
