Job Description:
Under the general supervision of the Payroll Director, this position performs a wide variety of payroll processing activities, including processing the semi-monthly payroll for various pay IDs, recording payroll deductions, processing requests for manual checks, etc.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
* Responsible for all related matters of the semi-monthly processing of additional and overtime payments for part-time and full-time staff, along with part-time timesheets.
* Provides coordination of the time and leave for part-time staff (i.e. Adjuncts).
* Coordinate the completion of the semi-monthly payroll for various payroll IDs.
* Coordinate the ACH transmittal and Positive Pay files to FIT bank as needed.
* Perform special projects as assigned by the Supervisor.
* Liaise with IT on testing Banner upgrades in the system.
* Perform accounting code changes in Banner Job Labor Distribution for various payroll IDs.
* Prepare semi-monthly and monthly payroll vouchers for Accounts Payable.
* Conducts research for various types of inquiries from employees, managers and agencies concerning payroll-related issues including inquiries about the cost center report.
* Process semi-monthly deductions as requested by employees.
* Conducts research in response to emails and letters from internal and external agencies.
* Serve as a backup in the absence of other payroll coordinators.
* Prepare the reissue of manual checks as needed.
* Participate in the process of mass salary increases mandated by the collective bargaining agreement.
* Coordinate the coverage of the office front desk and payroll dedicated email address.
* Additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
* Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in payroll and payroll processing systems (Banner, ADP, or other systems).
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with Banner and payroll processes in a higher education setting is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
* Knowledge of Banner HR/Payroll processes and systems
* Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
* Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
* Strong customer service skills
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
* Knowledge of payroll policies and procedures
* Demonstrated discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information

Salary
Salary: $78,875 per annum
The UCE-FIT Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) dictates the compensation, benefits, and conditions of employment. Hiring Rate: $78,875 per annum with step increments per Salary Schedule 94.
