Position Overview
Green Bay Packaging is seeking a temporary purchasing assistant to join our procurement team to fill a temporary vacancy.
Responsibilities
- Perform procurement duties for the purchasing department
- Complete general administration tasks including expediting shipments and communicating with suppliers
- Responsible for managing procurement and supply chain tasks in support of departmental activities
- Co-ordinate and monitor purchasing of consumable and maintenance related items.
- Communicate with vendors and internal/external customers as well as handling internal/external service relationships
- Assist in preparation of Excel files, Word documents and reports where applicable
- Assist with maintenance of equipment parts inventory system for naming convention and keeping parts lists current
- Assist maintenance personnel in acquiring data on vendors, parts, etc.
- Assist Accounts Payable with coding and variances
- Responsible for tracking internal and external repair parts, along with monitoring the costs of repairs
- Send purchase orders to suppliers and verify receipt of product
- Available to work overtime on an as-needed basis
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field preferred
- Minimum of one year experience in the procurement field preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Good organizational skills and office experience
