Job Type Temporary Description The National WWII Museum is seeking a Temporary Shipping Associate to oversee order fulfillment for the Museum's web store, phone orders, and mail-in orders. The Temporary Shipping Associate will also assist the Ecommerce and Wholesale Coordinator with pulling and packing of wholesale orders. Requirements

  • Daily printing of web orders and corresponding pick tickets.
  • Daily processing of all mail and phone orders through proper register.
  • Daily creation of picking list for warehouse and store locations. Ensuring all transfer documentation is completed at the end of each shift.
  • Answer phone orders and record all order information accurately on proper form.
  • Collect merchandise purchased in store to be shipped to customers and drop-off any store pick-up orders daily.
  • Securely package and label all orders and ship via UPS, USPS, or other acceptable carrier, maintaining proper receipts and documentation either electronically or by hard-copy.
  • Maintain adequate stock of shipping supplies, notifying Assistant Director of E-Commerce and Warehouse Operations of supply needs, prior to an out-of-stock situation.
  • Sync shipping software and release orders at end of each day to ensure customer communication of tracking data and payment capture.
  • Assist with prepping merchandise and laying out operational plans for off-site events. Staff events as needed and assist with post-event breakdown.
  • Securely package and label shipments for Museum departments as needed, communicating tracking and shipment costs back to each department.
  • Recommend procedures for improving the security and efficiency of shipping operations.
  • Develop a working relationship with the store management and staff, in an effort to insure maximum customer service.
  • Ensure shipping area is neat, clean, and organized at all times.
  • Assist in physical inventories and cycle counts as directed.
  • Follow established rules, regulations, and dress code requirements.
  • Learn all aspects of cash register and store operations to be able to assist in stores as needed.
  • Must be familiar and compliant with all Financial Policies and Procedures that impact retail operations.
  • Undertake other duties and special projects as assigned by the Retail Director.
Qualifications
  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED or comparable work history. Some college preferred.
  • Able to communicate clearly and pleasantly with customers, supervisors and co-workers.
  • Must possess basic mathematical skills and abilities.
  • Must be able to learn the Counterpoint system, Ship Station, BigCommerce, and UPS Software.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to operate, or learn to operate, equipment necessary to perform the job functions as outlined.
  • Must be able to complete tasks within a specified time period.
  • Must be willing to learn and follow established policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to work overtime during special events or as needed.
