Our flagship transitional work program Ready, Willing & Able integrates paid work, occupational training, and holistic supportive services to facilitate an individual's return to mainstream society.We are seeking a Tenant Services Coordinator for The Doe Fund's newest permanent housing development for employed adults transitioning out of shelter. The property is located in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx and provides 63 units of permanent housing and onsite social services for individuals referred by HRA and DHS. The residence is designed to provide care and support services in a community environment that maximizes residents' independence while ensuring their physical and emotional security and well-being.The Tenant Services Coordinator is responsible for providing supportive case management services and counseling to the residents. The successful candidate will have clinical skills and experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness.RESPONSIBILITIES:Maintain a caseload and provide supportive services to these individuals including advocacy and referrals to community services as neededProvide counseling and crisis intervention as necessaryAssist appropriate residents in accessing and maintaining benefitsMaintain communication with the Property Management department and address any maintenance issuesConduct regular unit inspectionsMonitor and assist residents with rent payments and budgetingMaintain resident records and complete a variety of charting documentation to assure compliance with HRA contractDevelop and implement resident-centered support plans for each resident and assist them with achieving their goals geared toward independenceDevelop and facilitate support groups and recreational activities for the residentsMaintain a liaison with community services including hospitals, substance abuse treatment programs, and mental health programsAttend ongoing training to enhance the services provided to the residentsAssist with the completion of reports as neededOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related fieldThe ideal candidate must have a working knowledge of substance abuse, mental illness, and homelessnessExcellent clinical and case management skills including knowledge of benefits in the NYC Metro areaLived experience a plusSensitivity to community issues and needsOutstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and writtenStrong ethical standards, confidentiality, and personal integrityComputer proficiency (i.e., email, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)Interested?Submit your application for review.Before you go, we want to assure you that we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace reflective of individuals who share our mission and who want to join us in working on the cutting-edge of important social issues.
