Description The Department of History at the University of North Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in United States History, 1877-1945 preferred. Secondary field open. Appointment begins in Fall 2025. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position has been filled. The University of North Alabama is located in Florence, Alabama, on the banks of the Tennessee River and enjoys a rich culinary, historical, and musical heritage, along with a thriving arts movement. Essential Job Duties Teaching responsibilities will include U.S. History surveys, advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in the candidate's area of specialty, as well as the development of online courses. Minimum Qualifications A PhD in History or a related field in hand by the time of the appointment is required. ABD candidates will be accepted provided the doctoral requirements are met by the time of the appointment. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, to an active research agenda, and to the campus community.
