As a Territory Sales Manager, you'll be the driving force behind exciting growth, recruiting top-tier talent, and making a real difference across the N. IL / Wisconsin territory.The Territory Sales Manager is expected to grow sales on a broad base in new and existing accounts and through new and existing 1099 sales managers and sales reps. Growth should come from a variety of individuals, sources, and accounts. Territory Sales Managers are expected to reside in the territory that they manage.NOTE: This position is based in Chicago. Territory office located in Oakbrook Terrace (60181).Compensation components: Base + incentive comp plan (quarterly / yearly bonuses)What You'll Do:
- Shape and Execute a Growth Strategy: Develop a business plan that outlines powerful marketing, recruiting, and sales tactics to hit sales goals across your territory.
- Build Winning Sales Teams: Recruit, select, and onboard high-performing 1099 Sales Managers and Reps, all while identifying new talent to fuel continuous growth.
- Coach and Motivate for Results: Guide District General Agents with ongoing coaching and support, helping them achieve-and exceed-their targets.
- Innovate to Expand Your Territory: Create dynamic marketing strategies for broker based business and direct, B2B opportunities that open doors and give your managers and reps an edge in the market.
- Oversee the Sales Office: Ensure seamless operations by managing staff and budget while meeting the territory's needs.What We're Looking For:
- Dynamic leader: You have a track record of inspiring and managing high-performing teams of independent (1099) sales pros with Colonial Life or other comparable company.
- Talent builder: Hands-on experience recruiting, training, and developing top 1099 sales managers and reps.
- Relationship builder: Skilled in partnering with benefits brokers, especially in the worksite and voluntary benefits space.
- Network: A network of potential Manager, Rep, and Broker candidates.
- Leadership Skills: You know how to inspire, guide, and elevate others.
- Education & Licensing: A college degree is preferred; must obtain insurance licenses for assigned territory states within 45 days.
- Public Speaking & Planning Skills: Strong organizational abilities and confidence to lead from the front.
