Position Details Position Information Requisition Number TES2651P Home Org Name Clinical Sciences Division Name College of Veterinary Medicine Position Title TES Horse Handler Estimated Hours Per Week 25-30 Anticipated Length of Assignment 1 year Job Summary The College of Veterinary Medicine seeks candidates to work as aTES Horse Handler in our Equine Surgery and Sports Medicine service as well as other areas of equine as needed. Temporary Employment Services (TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:
- Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
- Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
- Assistance with special projects
- Seasonal work

AU students are not eligible for TES. Essential Functions The Horse Handler will provide assistance to the Equine Sports Medicine and Surgery Service. Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Jog and lunge horses for lameness exams
- Provide restraint as needed for exams and procedures
- Hourly checks on inpatients
- Cleaning and restocking of supplies The individual may be asked to assist other areas of the equine section. Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
