Test Coordinator and Part-Time Tutor - Saint Ignatius : Job Details

Position Type: High School Teaching/Academic Coach Date Posted: 12/19/2024Location: Saint Ignatius High SchoolWe are seeking a dedicated and organized individual to serve as a part-time Tutor and Test Coordinator for the Walton Center at Saint Ignatius High School. The ideal candidate will provide academic tutoring in Math or Spanish and/or coach students with executive function deficits as well as manage the planning, administration, and reporting of tests for students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) or 504s requiring accommodations, such as extended time or small-group settings. This role supports student success and ensures compliance with testing accommodation requirements. This is a new position; we are looking for someone eager to help build a system for our test coordination, and someone flexible with the changing demands of our intervention space. Key Responsibilities:

Tutoring Services (60% of time):

• Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions to high school students in Math or Spanish. Alternatively to Math or Spanish, we would consider someone with extensive experience working with students in need of Executive Function support.
• Tailor instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs and academic goals.
• Track student progress and provide feedback to students, parents, and teachers as needed.

Test Coordination for students with accommodations (40% of time):

• Organize and administer tests for students with accommodations, including providing accommodations such as extended time, small-group settings, or other required supports.
• Collaborate with special education staff to ensure accommodations align with IEP/504 requirements.
• Schedule and oversee the administration of assessments in compliance with school policies.
• Maintain accurate records of accommodations and testing data.
• Communicate testing schedules and procedures to students, teachers, and parents as appropriate.
• Ensure secure handling and confidentiality of testing materials.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Math, Spanish, or a related field
• Proficiency in tutoring Math (Algebra I/II, Geometry, or Precalculus) or Spanish (all levels) OR extensive experience in working with students with Executive Function deficits
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience working with students with IEPs or knowledge of special education accommodations is a plus.
• Ability to uphold confidentiality and integrity in handling testing materials.

Schedule:

• Flexible schedule with up to 30 hours per week between 8:15am and 3:05pm. Testing accommodations may require occasional early mornings or specific time blocks.
• This position will follow the school schedule. This school year ends on May 22, 2025.

Compensation:

• Hourly rate is $39.41. This is a seasonal, part-time position.
