The Testing Specialist is responsible for the administration of the NWACC placement test and NWACC classroom tests. The incumbent will also assist with the scheduling and administration of a variety of testing programs, proctor services, and certification testing. This position is responsible for coordinating office activities and developing, revising, and recommending administrative policies and procedures as directed by supervisor. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. Essential Duties

  • Monitors and administers various types of pencil/paper and computer/web-based tests for prospective and currently enrolled students. Records and ensures that the data is properly transmitted to the appropriate databases on and off campus.
  • Provides accommodation testing for students with special requirements.
  • Assists with the administration of tests associated with the outside proctoring services that the center provides for the community. These exams include CLEP, DSST, Pearsonvue, Kryterion, etc.
  • Obtains all certifications needed to administer the exams mentioned above and others not listed.
  • Works as a liaison between the Testing Center and faculty while assisting students in the center.
  • Assists with the reception desk as needed which includes checking in students, assisting students with making appointments, doing the proper paperwork for community proctoring services (PearsonVUE, CLEP, etc)
  • Answers telephone and emails as well as assisting walk-in students.
  • Provides administrative and clerical support as needed.
  • Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including covering evenings and/or Saturday. This position will be Monday through Thursday 11am - 9pm.
  • Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Rate of Pay: $17.34 per hour Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Should be able to work effectively with employees and all levels of leadership within the institution.
  • Must be proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio) and HRIS systems.
  • The successful candidate must be a self-starter who takes accountability for performance while requiring minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to handle highly confidential material efficiently and effectively.
  • Must possess strong time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with individuals and teams across the institution and campus.
  • Ability to analyze information and recommend appropriate action.
  • Knowledge of planning, research, and analysis techniques and procedures.
  • Knowledge of department, operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to conduct research and perform quantitative quality assurance reviews.
  • Ability to research, prepare, and present comprehensive written and oral reports.
  • Ability to organize and conduct meetings and workshops.
  • Knowledge of state and federal personnel laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Must be able to report clear, concise and accurate ad-hoc reports to all levels of leadership.

Required Qualifications An Associate degree is required plus one year of specialized training in business management, business education, or a related field; plus three years of experience in specialized or a related field applicable to work performed. Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Some work experience may substitute for educational requirements. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Arkansas Division of Higher Education.
