Must Haves:
- Associate or bachelor's Degree
- 3+ years of experience with operation and maintenance of all mechanical systems:
- include chillers, boilers, circulating pumps, air handlers and air distribution systems and building automation systems
- National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB) certification
- Knowledge of Air Distribution Systems, know the purpose of each component in an air system and how these components interact as related to system operating pressure.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications
- Proficiency and test instruments and tools used in HVAC testing and balancing

Day to day:
Insight Global is seeking a HVAC test, adjust and balance technician in San Antonio. The TAB Tech will be responsible for inspecting, testing, adjusting, and balancing heating, cooling, and ventilating systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings to ensure they meet design specifications and performance standards Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Perform TAB tasks for HVAC, Plumbing, and Steam systems.
- Create and maintain TAB reports and assessments, using DHA standard formats based on NEBB/AABC procedures.
- Collect and evaluate system data from various sources, updating inventory and one-line flow diagrams for air, hydronic, and steam systems.
- Develop and compile TAB floor plans, schematics, and other reference materials.
- Provide assessments and recommendations for system design and deficiencies to Mechanical SME/Engineer.
- Evaluate and write scopes of work for proper TAB devices.
- Troubleshoot issues in air ventilation, HVAC waterside, sound transmission, and steam quality in medical facilities and labs.
- Coordinate with controls vendors to prepare systems for accurate measurements.
- Develop technical solutions to improve system performance and create statements of work and cost estimates.
- Participate in commissioning, functional testing, and design validation of major HVAC systems, reporting findings to the Engineering & Design Branch.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to facility maintenance providers and executive staff.
- Maintain DHA equipment sign-out procedures and coordinate transportation of TAB equipment.
- Ensure TAB equipment is calibrated and maintain calibration records.
