At The Arc of Palm Beach County, we are dedicated to changing the conversation around disabilities by inspiring possibilities and improving the lives of the people we serve, their families, and our community. As an AmeriCorps member with the Arc of PBC, you will receive training to effectively engage and mentor participants across various skill areas aligned with our program's objectives. Responsibilities include engaging and mentoring children and adults with disabilities in skill-building activities, implementing individualized and group enhancement activities promoting independence, healthy living skills, daily living skills, fostering meaningful relationships, and collaborating with program staff to create enriching experiences. We have multiple opportunities available: Half Time (900 hours) Approx. 19 hours per week |Quarter Time (450 hours) Approx. 10 hours per week | Minimum Time (300 Hours) Approx. 7 hours per week. Member Duties : The AmeriCorps program at The Arc of Palm Beach County supports individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) through an array of enhancement activities that help foster much needed healthy and daily living skills. Members will deliver individual and/or group activities that include but are not limited to the areas of daily living skills, appropriate social interactions, appropriate and meaningful program participation, gardening, healthy meal planning and preparing, exercising, problem-solving skills, assisting program participants during program events, assisting in interpersonal interactions during recreational field trips, among other areas.
