Therapist(PLPC, LPC, LMSW, LCSW)Salaried position: $50,000 - $56,000Hours: Mon-Fri 8-5Job Summary: Louisiana Methodist Children's Home of SWLA is seeking an empathetic, passionate, and caring PLPC, LPC, LMSW, or LCSW to provide therapeutic treatment on site to clients ages 12-18 years of age. Clients have an average stay of 3-6 months, during which the therapist provides individual, family, and group therapy based on treatment plans written by the therapist in collaboration with the client and their guardians. While therapists can have a caseload of up to 8 youth, decisions are made using a treatment team, which is made up of multidisciplinary professionals, who collaborate to provide the best care possible for our clients. Principal duties and responsibilities:

Ensure each resident on his or her caseload receives a minimum of three individual therapy sessions each week (a minimum weekly total of 120 minutes).

Ensure each resident on his or her caseload receives a minimum of two group therapy sessions per week.

Responsible for evaluating residents; formulating written individualized plans of care; providing active treatment measures; and engaging in discharge planning.

Record residents progress as measured by objective indicators and making appropriate changes/modifications to the Master Treatment Plan as indicated.

Serving as liaison between the resident, provider, family, and community during the resident's admission to and residence in the facility, or while the resident is receiving services from the provider.

Ensure the provision of compassionate, culturally sensitive services.

Ensure the involvement of families whenever possible in treatment planning.

Other duties as assigned.

Must have a fundamental love for children and a desire to be an agent for change in their lives.

Must have empathy for others and practice the Golden Rule in relationships with residents and their families, with fellow staff member and with others.

Must be an active, eager learner and willing to try new methods.

Must be a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP)

Must possess a strong sense of personal authority, maturity and integrity for agency-wide leadership role.

Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, in a diverse range of audiences and settings.

Must be skilled in conflict resolution and mediation.

Must possess strong leadership skills to promote staff unity, staff morale and cooperative relationships among various agency departments.

Must use good social skills with residents, their family members and fellow staff members.

Must protect the confidentiality of residents, their family members and all Protected Health Information (PHI).

Must have a strong work ethic and be willing to commit to significant job responsibilities.

Must be flexible and able to function in demanding position.
