JOB TITLE: TITLE I AIDEDEPARTMENT: School/Federal Programs and School ImprovementREPORTS TO: Principal/Title I TeacherFLSA STATUS/CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt; Level 3SUPERVISORY DUTIES: noneAPPROVED ON: 02/14/2023SUMMARY: Assists Title I teachers in providing a well-organized Intervention program to studentswho are in need of supplemental instruction in reading and or math.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Assists teachers in providing an effective learning environmentPrepares instructional materials as requested by the teacherCollects Title I reporting dataMaintains vigilance to signs of child abuse or neglectParticipates in professional growth activitiesProvides positive reinforcement for studentsAssists with evaluating and testing students individually on a weekly basis or when requestedHandles routine clerical work as assignedSupervises students outside of the classroom where requestedAssists the teacher during instruction and evaluation of student workWorks with small groups or one-on-one with students to help ensure understanding of the lesson and reinforce material introduced by the teacherAssist teacher with administrative and/or non-instructional activitiesProvides small group instruction autonomously with general guidance from Title I TeachersManages student behavior while instructingParticipates in weekly rotation scheduleKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:Ability to operate standard classroom related learning tools and equipment and specialized learning platformsAbility to work with school age childrenAbility to communicate effectively verbally and in writingAbility to maintain confidentialityProduce accurate work and complete assignments with minimal supervisionAbility to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situationsAbility to work cooperatively and courteously with staff, students, parents and community membersKnowledge of applicable Federal and State laws, district procedures and Board policiesAbility to handle confrontation and conflict without an emotional responseQUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:Education & Experience:High School diploma or equivalentMust have completed at least 2 years of college study, hold an associate's degree or higher, or passed the paraprofessional assessments in reading, writing, and mathematicsPrevious classroom instruction experience preferredAny equivalent combination of training, education and experience that meets minimum requirementsIVP Fingerprint clearance cardComputer Proficiency: Demonstrated general proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Google Suite.PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
