DescriptionSummary: Handles the legal transfer of documents for the Department of Motor Vehicles on all Wholesale, Dealer Trades, and Retail deals. Essential Duties:
- Processes all new and used vehicles for registration in the state in which they will be titled.
- Trained for retail procedures.
- Assists when help is needed in retail processing.
- Helps with both retail and wholesale customer calls.
- Submits all legal transfer work to the Department of Motor Vehicles when applicable for wholesale and retail.
- Verifies that funds have been collected and the correct lienholder paid off before processing title applications. When processing retail, verify the lienholder.
- Checks for accuracy in the application and ensures that all information is complete.
- Processes all dealer trades for sister stores.
- Cross-trained to check in inventory jackets.
- Maintains a system to verify out-of-state titles.
- Helps with problem titles that are in auction status but still in inventory. Notifies and recommends vehicle not be sold until cleared,
- Signs over titles for all wholesalers who have paid in full. Have been cross-trained to run these reports.
- Process all dealer trades and have all title in jackets processed and ready for payment for Friday auctions.
- Cross-trained on how to set up for auctions. (Run reports and pull jackets.)
- Posts vehicle sales for both auction and sales outside of auction.
- Help with the daily wholesale report to ensure cars are clear to be sold at auction.
- Stays abreast of title regulations. Attends seminars held by local licensing bureaus and any available training on title regulations.
RequirementsEducation and/or Experience:
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Title experience required.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
