The Office of Family and Community Engagement (FACE) cultivates and maintains healthy working relationships with parents, families, community members and education stakeholders, by establishing a reciprocal exchange of strategic plans and concepts pertaining to the quality of schools and improvement of educational outcomes for all students. Job Summary Reporting to the Title I Manager, the Title I Program Coordinator will support the goals of the Title I Program.The Title I Program Coordinator will monitor how the Parent & Family Engagement Funds are utilized with fidelity, in compliance with the Every Student Succeed Act (ESSA) law, maximize parent & family engagement in their children's academic growth, and offer support to district parent leaders. The Title I Program Coordinator will be held accountable for the following responsibilities: •Work to increase parents, school principals, and FACE team knowledge of the Title I program through outreach and direct support. oOversee compliance process & trackers; collect, maintain, and report out Title I data and identify and communicate trends to Parent Advisory Councils (PACs), FACE Specialists, and school leaders oCo-create, present, and socialize monthly Title I guidance materials with FACE Specialists oConsult with FACE Specialists, school leaders, and parent stakeholders on processes and resources related to the use of funds and operations of Parent Advisory Councils (PAC) •Work closely with the Title I Manager to develop and operationalize sustainable processes to support functional Parent Advisory Councils (PACs) in Title I schools. •Serve as the first point of contact for the Parent Board of Governors (PBG) by providing technical assistance, and in-person and virtual programming support. oLead the Parent Board of Governors gatherings & activities oAssist in the development and execution of the annual PBG election process and onboarding retreat oRespond quickly and effectively to PBG needs •Provide technical assistance, access, and guidance for Title I schools and FACE Specialists to meet timely compliance and expenditure goals. •Update and maintain the Charter and Chicago Public School databases, stakeholder directories, and department contact logs •Must adhere to Performance Guidelines established by Senior and FACE Leadership •Other duties as assigned. In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Title I Program Coordinator must possess the following qualifications: Education Required: •Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required •Master's degree preferred Experience Required: •Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience •Minimum of two (2) years of experience in facilitating in-person/virtual training •Experience working with parents & community stakeholders preferred Other Requirements: •Evening and weekend work is required as needed •Reliable transportation and travel to sites across the City of Chicago are required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: •Ability to think big picture and translate ideas into realistic, actionable plans. •Exceptional writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills, including public speaking. •Keen analytical skills and attention to detail. •Demonstrated excellent time management skills •Ability to handle and respond to competing priorities. •Ability to synthesize and apply information for different audiences. •Adeptness in meeting facilitation. •Demonstrated skills in trend analysis to identify issues and make sound recommendations proactively •Knowledge of Chicago's communities •Willing and able to perform assigned tasks in a manner that is sensitive to different personalities, respectful of the role and authority, and sensitive to community dynamics and political implications •Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders •Must be proficient with computers and software, including but not limited to: Google Suite, Zoom, and Google Meet. Conditions of Employment As a condition of employment with the Chicago Public Schools (CPS), employees are required to: •Establish/Maintain Chicago Residency - Employees are required to live within the geographic boundaries of the City of Chicago within six months of their CPS hire date and maintain residency throughout their employment with the district. The Chicago residency requirement does not apply to temporary/part-time positions, however, all CPS employees must be residents of Illinois. •Be Fully Vaccinated Against COVID-19 - Unless approved for a medical or religious exemption, all employees are required to be up-to-date on COVID-19 vaccinations, including boosters, and to submit proof of vaccination to the district within 30 days of hire. Up-to-date on vaccination is defined as being at least two weeks past all primary vaccine doses and any applicable boosters.
