JOB TITLE: Tool and Die Maker

Shift: 5 AM – 3:30 PM Mon-Thurs

Pay: $38-$40 per hour, depending on experience

SUMMARY:

The Tool and Die Maker is responsible for testing and repairing dies from presses, shaping metal, assembling parts, and testing final products in a manufacturing environment. Candidates should have experience with tool and die repair, lathes, grinders, and presses. Must possess technical, mechanical, and professional skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Install precision components like springs, balance mechanisms, and dies

- Setup and operate lathes, drill presses, milling machines, and grinders

- Repair, rebuild, and service dies for presses based on blueprints or verbal instructions

- Maintain preventive maintenance logs

- Use precision gauging equipment and operate machinery

- Work with heavy manufacturing equipment, large presses, and lathes

- Use hand tools and trade-specific tools with a high degree of precision

- Build fixtures and observe machine operations for defects or malfunctions

- Assist the maintenance team and perform other assigned duties

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

- Maintain accurate test logs and reports

- Follow established safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment

- Provide technical assistance to supervisors and communicate effectively with the team

- Self-starter capable of managing projects independently

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- High School Diploma or GED required

- 5-10 years of experience in a related field

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

- Ability to perform basic math functions and interpret measurements

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Regular standing, walking, and manual dexterity

- Frequent lifting of 10-25 lbs and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs

- Vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
