Using machinists' hand tools, apply knowledge of tool and die design and construction, shop mathematics, metal properties, basic heat treating, layout, machining, and assembly procedures.JOB DUTIES:Analyzes specifications, lay out metal stock, sets up and operates machine tools; fits and assembles parts to make and repair metal working dies, cutting tools, jigs and fixtures, gages and machinists' hand tools.Design and build metal working dies, jigs, and fixtures with verbal outline of requirements.Studies specifications, such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions and visualizes product.Computes dimensions and plans layout and assembly operations.Measures, marks and scribes metal stock for machining.Sets up and operates machine tools, such as lathe, milling machine, shaper and grinder, to machine parts and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications.Requirements:Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.High school diploma or general education degree (GED).Completion of a state-certified Apprenticeship Program or Company certified equivalent program.Minimum three (3) years of Machine Shop experience.Strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude.Accuracy and working knowledge of all Tool Room equipment.Ability to read and interpret blueprints.If you are an ambitious and driven individual who thrives on innovation and enjoys working in a team environment, then this is the perfect opportunity for you!
