Build tooling and tooling components using machining, weld, and assembly equipment Design and build simple tools and productions aids Maintain and repair fixtures and dies Record project labor hours and material consumption Operate powered equipment such as hand, grinders, drills, etc. Operate manual and programmable machine tools, including but not limited to mills, lathes, and grinders Produce tooling parts and components to print specifications and within allowable tolerance ·Communication and Documentation Maintain open communications through formal and informal documents Education: High School Graduate or GED Toolmaker certificate or journeyman card preferred Associates Degree in Mechanical technology a plus Knowledge & Experience 3 to 5 years of manufacturing experience in a metal fabrication shop Skills/Abilities: Ability to read and understand blue prints Ability to use precision measuring instruments Able to complete responsibilities in a timely, professional and quality manner. Solve problems analytically; search out relevant information and gauge its importance when making decisions Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms Set a good example of personal integrity Demonstrate ability and willingness to learn; seek out development activities to improve skills and increase knowledge; learn from other team members and own mistakes Take initiative, seek and act on opportunities to improve organization performance Ability to translate specific goals into action and follow through to achieve goals Proficient in CNC Machine tool conversational programming Experience with manual Machine tools Ability to implement Lean principles in day to day activities.
