What you will be responsible for: The Tool Maker will be responsible for creating, repairing, and maintaining precision tools, and fixtures used in the manufacturing of medical devices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tool making, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Design, fabricate, and repair precision tooling, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Interpret SolidWorks drawings/models and specifications to ensure accurate tool production.
  • Operate and maintain various machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC and EDM equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of tools to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to tooling and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of tool usage, repairs, and modifications.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Set-up and run laser engraver to identify tooling.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Office applications. Ability to use cam software to program computerized equipment. Experience with CNC programming and operation is a plus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Education / Experience:

  • High School or GED Equivalent.
  • 2+ years minimum machinist and/or tool making experience.
  • Mastercam experience preferred.
