About the Role
To support manufacturing operations by maintaining, trouble shooting and repairing all facilities and manufacturing equipment in a safe and orderly fashion as directed by the maintenance area/shift leader.
Your Responsibilities
This job description in no way implies that these are the only duties to be performed in this position. Associates will be required to follow any other job-related instructions or to perform other job duties requested by their manager.
Troubleshoot and repair problems on plant facilities and production equipment of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic in nature.
Troubleshoot tooling issues.
Assists in the implementations and improvement of effective preventive maintenance programs for all equipment, performing scheduled maintenance on facilities and production equipment as required.
Assist in dimensional improvements requiring tooling shim moves to improve part quality.
Maintain and update equipment records, shim logs, schematics, blueprints, and files in orderly fashion
Leading projects, training and mentoring Tooling Technicians I and II.
Obtain and attend training for professional development and to stay current on maintenance and safety requirements and other training as required.
Complete all work in accordance with OSHA, NEC, JIC and DNR standards and regulations
Complete correspondence, forms and reports using personal computer and required software
Maintain department repair parts stock and inventory
Handle confidential information on a regular basis
To work in a safe, quality minded, and productive manner with a sense of urgency to achieve maintenance deadlines and to attain production priorities as scheduled.
Attend daily pre-shift meetings and carry out assigned workloads as directed by shift/area leaders.
Communicates with maintenance manager and maintenance area/shift leaders, and other plant personnel about maintenance concerns, providing complete action plans and status reports as and when required.
Follows and supports LMV Automotive Systems' and Magna's operating principles, including:

Work with all shifts in design and development of improving methods and equipment through continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
May be required to adjust shifts as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Has a responsibility to help develop all maintenance apprentices and give guidance where needed.

Education and/or Experience:
• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Schooling is required - Skill Trades Progression or related program and 3 years' experience in related field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
• Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts as appropriate.
• Must be proficient in using Lathes, Milling Machines, Grinders, Drill Presses and Saws.
• Must be proficient in bench repair, design tooling fabrication and assembly, machinery up-keep, layout, inspection, quality control, fixture building, welding, drilling, tapping sizing, fitting parts and heat treating.
• Ability to apply advanced troubleshooting
• Ability to effectively execute complex CNC programming.
• Computer proficiency, Microsoft Word, Excel etc.
• Must have good organizational skills.
• Must exhibit high integrity and honesty.
• Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, blueprints, diagrams, schematics, equipment instructions, requirements, and business correspondences.
• Ability to effectively and appropriately present information and respond to questions from various groups.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Fabrication and mechanical skills
• Ability to obtain and hold a fork truck license.
• Ability to obtain and hold a boom/scissor lift license.
Physical Demands
• Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 40 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing, or walking.
• Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades.
• Must be able to handle hazardous materials safely and tolerate exposure to electrical and other environmental hazards.
Environmental Conditions:
• Must be able to work in various locations within and outside the manufacturing plant.
• Must be able to rotate working shifts and weekend overtime to meet department requirements with a minimum amount of supervision.
• Exposed regularly to elements such as temperature and noise.
• Safety precautions to be observed in the maintenance and installation of electronic and mechanical equipment.
• Must be comfortable with working at heights and within confined spaces.
Environmental, Health & Safety:
• Support and comply with all TS16949 & ISO14001 procedures and work instructions.
• Support a safe and healthful work environment that is free of recognized hazards for all employees, contractors and visitors.
• Cooperate with all local, state and federal agencies, such as OSHA or the EPA, in the event of an inspection.
• Know and follow all applicable EH&S Policies and Procedures.
