The mission of the Allen Institute administration team is to provide support and structure to the scientific divisions. Coinciding with the team science approach, administration helps facilitate team learning and the overall mission of the institute.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Total Rewards Partner I to join our People and Culture team. In this role, you will support the administration of our compensation programs and provide data management and reporting for our benefits programs. You will be instrumental in ensuring fair and competitive compensation practices while managing data feeds and reports related to Total Rewards.

Essential FunctionsCompensation
  • Compensation Programs Support: Assist in the administration of the company's compensation programs, including salary benchmarking, job evaluations, and market analysis. Provide our People and Culture Business Partners and managers with timely and helpful information and tools related to managing our compensation programs.
  • Compensation Survey Management: Work within the market pricing system, including uploading/maintaining survey data results for market data analysis. Collect, analyze, and interpret compensation data to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Job Evaluation: Adhering to and upholding the compensation philosophy and framework through the job evaluation process, ensuring that positions are evaluated against the established set of criteria and are leveled consistently across the organization.
  • Annual Salary Planning and Quarterly Promotion Cycles: Partner with HRIS to ensure the comp planning tool reflects correct program requirements. Build reports to monitor awards, ensuring spend is within budget. Pull reporting to conduct a pay equity analysis to ensure fair and equitable distribution of awards.
  • Compliance: Assist in ensuring compliance with internal policies, as well as local, state, and federal regulations related to compensation.
  • Communication: Assist in developing communication materials related to compensation programs and processes.
  • Total Rewards (Data Management and Reporting)
  • Vendor Data Feeds: Manage and maintain data feeds related to compensation and benefits programs, ensuring timely and accurate transfer of information between systems and vendors. Collaborate with vendors and internal IT teams to troubleshoot issues.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports on compensation and benefit metrics, trends, and analytics.
  • Data Audits: Conduct data audits to ensure the integrity and accuracy of compensation and benefits information.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of Total Rewards processes and procedures.
  • Required Education And Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Preferred Education And Experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in a related HR role, preferably with a focus on compensation or HR Reporting.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
  • Experience with HRIS systems is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Knowledge of compensation principles, practices, and regulations is preferred.
  • Physical Demands
  • Fine motor movements in fingers/hands to operate computers and other office equipment.
  • Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
  • This role is currently able to work in a hybrid work environment. We are a Washington State employer, and any remote work must be performed in Washington State.
  • Annualized Salary Range
  • $73,450 - $98,945*
  • Final salary depends on the required education for the role, experience, level of skills relevant to the role, and work location, where applicable.
