QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduating senior or graduate student in an accredited four-year college or university or currently possess a bachelor's degree
- Sports Marketing/Management, Marketing, Management, Communications, or comparable liberal arts majors preferred
- Eligible to work in the United States; International students must have all visas and employment authorizations
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Public relations skills and ability to communicate with staff, volunteers, corporate clients, club members and public
- Must take initiative, operate proactively, and think independently in project management and problem solving.
- Capacity to work on several projects simultaneously
- Self-discipline with schedule and time management
- Organization, attention to detail and follow-through are crucial.
- Ability to stand for lengthy periods and lift/move boxes of supplies and apparel potentially weighing 30 pounds or more
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Communication and public relations with volunteers
- Recruit volunteers through local charities and community organizations
- Oversee and manage the volunteer database system
- Assist the volunteer leadership with communication and scheduling
- Manage volunteer uniform distribution & training sessions
- Oversee the Tournament's volunteer communication including the monthly newsletter
- Assist with the Tournament's grassroots marketing campaign, working with local partners to promote the event
- Assist with event pre-planning & logistics
- Work closely with the Tournament's title sponsor, Dominion Energy, and host club, The Country Club of Virginia
- Assist with general administrative work and other Tournament Services related duties as assigned
