This role is crucial for managing relationships with third party manufacturers (TPMs) and will involve leading communications between Abbott Toxicology and our TPM partners. Abbott Toxicology is part of our Rapid Diagnostics division. Abbott's rapid diagnostic tests allow healthcare professionals and their patients to get same-day results. For healthcare workers, this means they can diagnose and advise their patients in a single office visit. For patients, quicker results mean earlier treatment, less anxiety, less time, and money spent on repeat doctor visits and a faster return to good health.What You'll Work OnEnhancing TPM Capabilities: Develops and prioritizes TPM department goals and objectives, measures performance, and implements corrective actions when necessary. Coordinates internal and external resources to address quality issues and ensure supply.Supply Management: This role will focus on ensuring supply from the Toxicology critical TPM suppliers by monitoring production, escalating risks, and communicating forecasts and other priorities. Anticipates risks and proactively develops mitigations to minimize impact to the business.Budget Oversight: Manage the TPM spend and budget, prioritizing cost reduction opportunities and other improvement projects. Reviews and confirms payment terms, and ensures tracking and timely payment of open invoices. Ensures accuracy of order trackers and publication of relevant data to internal stakeholders.Flexibility: Be prepared for travel (approximately 15-20%) to engage with TPMs both locally and internationally, including TPM partners in the US, UK, China, and others.Goal Development: Establish and prioritize departmental goals, measure performance, and implement corrective actions as necessary.Governance: Ensure a clear governance model is in place to define roles and responsibilities and address TPM performance issues. Facilitates TPM quarterly business reviews and other periodic performance check-ins.Technical Evaluation: Responsible for evaluation and identification of technical manufacturing capabilities of current and future TPMs.Program Coordination: Coordinates TPM related programs such as product transfers, continuous improvement initiatives, material changes, validation of new manufacturing process, etc., providing oversight and guidance to Supply Chain, Marketing, Quality, and Regulatory functions.Cost Reduction: Develop strategies to lower total acquisition costs and facilitate design changes to enhance quality and cost efficiency.Resource Coordination: Collaborate with internal and external resources to resolve issues and ensure supply continuity.Performance: Monitor, track, and improve key performance metrics, with focus on Delivery Performance (OTIF), Lead Time Performance, Quality Performance, and Customer Service measures. Review TPM Production and shipping lead times and partner with TPMs to implement lead time reduction initiatives.Sustainability: Ensure TPMs meet Abbott's requirements for Product Stewardship, Sustainability (Ecovadis), and other corporate initiatives.Education and Experience You'll BringRequired:Bachelor's Degree (± 16 years)10 years of relevant work experienceStrong leadership and supplier relationship management skillsExpertise in contract negotiation and managementProficiency in engineering changes and root cause analysisFinancial acumen and analytical skillsExperience in material planning and procurement.Familiarity with quality systems (CAPAs, SCARs, QIs)Experience managing OUS supplier relationships (Europe and/or Asia)*Participants who complete a short wellness assessment qualify for FREE coverage in our HIP PPO medical plan. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
