Job Summary:Under routine supervision, this position is responsible for performingintermediate level maintenance, service, and repair of J.B. Hunt tractors andother equipment. Technicians must be able to troubleshoot issuesand completeall fleet maintenance processes and ensure that units meet J. B. Huntspecifications at all times. This position has the possibility to workoutdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/orweekends in addition to overtime; it requires full-time attendance.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrateproficient knowledge of preventative maintenance and standard repairsrelated to tractor equipment, including fuel systems, batteries, engines,drive trains, onboard computers, transmissions, air brake systems and FHWAinspections
  • Troubleshoottractor issues and accurately perform intermediate-level repairs tocompany and manufacturer's specifications, complete work orders anddemonstrate understanding of company requirements for standard repairtimes (SRT) and warranty guidelines
  • Assistwith the onboarding and mentorship of tractor technician trainees
  • Participatein Original Equipment Manufacture training for OE repairs
  • Understandand effectively follow all shop safety procedures
  • Maintainprofessional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers

Shift Schedule: Sunday-Wednesday 6AM to 4:30PM

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Mustbe 18 years of age with 2 years of experience in semi-tractor maintenanceand repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, ormilitary equivalent
  • ANDDemonstration of the following skills and abilities through education,certifications, military, or other experiences
  • Mustbe A/C certified
  • Mustbe DOT certified in FHWA inspections and air brakes
  • Ableto supply your own basic tools, or purchase through our toolbox purchaseprogram
  • Willingnessto work outdoors in the elements
  • Ableto work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HighSchool Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Abilityto communicate (written and verbal) effectively.
  • Abilityto fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50pounds).
  • Abilityto multitask. 
  • Abilityto read documents and/or information in English.
  • Abilityto wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE).
  • Abilityto work both independently and as part of a team. 
  • Proficientactive listening skills. 
  • Proficientcomputer skills and/or comfortable working with a computer.
  • Proficientdeductive reasoning skills.
  • Proficientorganizational skills.
  • Proficientproblem-solving skills.
  • Proficienttime management skills.  
  • Self-motivation.

Compensation:

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range mayinclude skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications ofthe successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus andincentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms ofthe Company's bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from timeto time.
