Trades Specialist (Electrician) - Stony Brook University : Job Details

Required Qualifications: Per Civil Service Standards and Specifications. Four years of experience in the electrical trade under a skilled journey-level tradesperson, which includes training equivalent to that given in a two year applied skilled electrical traineeship or an apprenticeship. Training gained by completion of technical courses in the electrical trade at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Candidate must be able to perform physical tasks of position such as bending, lifting, stretching and climbing. Must be able to access equipment in low places and able to move heavy objects or equipment up to 50 lbs. Must have the ability to work in confined spaces and from a ladder, scaffolding or man lift over ten feet in height. Must have, keep and maintain the appropriate valid NYS Driver's License; have a motor vehicle record which is free from major violations or a pattern of repeat violations.
