Traffic Control Technician - Stripe It Up : Job Details

Stripe-it-Up is seeking applicants with traffic control experience who must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle record (MVR).

Job Type: Full-time, Non-exempt

Requirements and Job Responsibilities:

· Delivery, set-up, and/or installation of Traffic Control equipment and signage to ensure the safety of the traveling public.

· Drive MOT (Management of Traffic) vehicle to and from project and on work site.

· Place temporary construction signs in work zones.

· Place arrow board or variable message boards in work zones.

· Place traffic cones and other traffic safety devices in work area.

· Will perform flagging duties as required by the contractor.

· Check work zones throughout shift to be sure items are still in their proper location.

· Pick up traffic control items at beginning and end of shift and load into the truck.

· May require to drive TMA(Truck Mounted Attenuator) vehicle to and from project & on work site to protect workers & work zone.

· Install, remove and reset delineators, signs, posts and supports.

· Shop work which may include general maintenance, repair of equipment, filling sand bags ,cutting materials and keep department area cleaned and organized.

· Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

· Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.

· Inspect trucks and trailers before and after use.

· Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspection forms, and ensure equipment is in working order.

· Maintain proper safety equipment and uniform required for each job.

Qualifications

· Self-starter with a strong work ethic.

· Previous experience in traffic control or sign installation, or a related field, is a plus.

· Must pass pre-employment background checks for criminal record, driving record, and controlled substance/drug testing.

· Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record, a CDL license is preferred.

· Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.

· Ability to read and write traffic control plans, paper and electronic

· Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor.

. know how to determine unsafe conditions and be able to understand how to correct errors in safe order

Physical Requirements:

· Regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds to 100 pounds.

· Regular exposure to outside weather conditions, moving traffic, fumes, and airborne particles.

· Noise level of the work environment is moderate to loud.

· Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Availability:

· Must be able to work nights and weekends.

· Must be able to work overtime.

· On occasion, there are short periods of overnight travel.
