Helio Health is on a mission to promote recovery from the effects of substance use and mental health disorders and other behavioral health issues. To support our mission, the Training Specialist will facilitate trainings focused on CASAC classes for individuals looking to become credentialed alcohol and substance abuse counselors.

In addition to Helio Health's comprehensive benefits package, this position is eligible for a Sign-On Incentive up to $8,000 depending upon current licensure!

Pay Rate: $57,700.00 - $64,000.00 per year.

Responsibilities
    Assist the Training Institute Director in:
    • Knowledge management
      • Keeping training materials up-to-date
      • Production of new training material
      • Maintaining the learning management system
      • Managing course registrations
      • Collating training related data and reportt
    • Program development
      • Research for new products
      • Attendance at train the trainer programs
      • Speaker/training identification
      • Continuing education credit hour requests
    • Course delivery
      • Course facilitation
      • Setting up and using A/V equipment including online training systems
    • Conference planning/management
      • Coordinating event planning committee
      • Managing conference events
      • coordinating continuing education credit for the event
  • Facilitate courses/trainings covering the competencies associated with:
    • The 350 hour educational requirement for CASAC initial certification, given by the Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services.
    • The 60 hour continuing educational requirement for the CASAC, given by the Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services.
    • The 36 hour continuing educational requirement for the LMSW, given by the University of the State of New York Education Department.
    • The 36 hour continuing educational requirement for the LMHC, given by the University of the State of New York Education Department.
    • Other, professional trainings planned and scheduled to meet agency or community needs e.g. De-escalation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Qualified Health Provider (QHP) status is required, within 6 months of hire.
    • You are a QHP if you hold any of the following licenses or credentials:
      • Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC)
      • Registered Nurse
      • Nurse practitioner
      • Licensed mental health practitioner (including permit eligible)
      • Licensed social worker (including permit eligible)
      • Certified therapeutic recreation therapist
  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years clinical experience
  • Previous experience facilitating groups or in service training preferred
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered.
