Job Description :

Sterling Search Partners is helping a Birmingham client with its search for a Training Specialist. The Training Specialist is responsible for planning, developing, and conducting training programs that enhance employee skills, knowledge, and performance in alignment with company objectives. The role includes assessing training needs, creating training materials, delivering training sessions, and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Needs Assessment and Analysis:

  • Conduct assessments to identify training and development needs.
  • Work closely with managers and department heads to determine training requirements and skill gaps.
  • Analyze performance metrics to identify areas where training can improve employee productivity.

Training Program Development:

  • Develop and design training materials, manuals, e-learning modules, and presentations.
  • Customize training content for different teams and roles within the organization.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and integrate best practices into training programs.

Training Delivery:

  • Lead and facilitate training sessions, both in-person and virtually.
  • Engage employees through interactive methods such as group discussions, role-playing, and case studies.
  • Provide individual coaching and support as needed.

Program Evaluation and Feedback:

  • Measure the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics.
  • Adjust and improve training methods and materials based on feedback.
  • Monitor post-training progress to ensure the application of learned skills on the job.

Employee Development and Coaching:

  • Provide ongoing guidance and support to employees in applying new skills.
  • Foster a learning culture by encouraging continuous improvement and development.
  • Offer one-on-one coaching or group sessions to address specific learning needs.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with HR, department leaders, and managers to align training programs with organizational goals.
  • Communicate training schedules, goals, and updates to employees and stakeholders.
  • Build relationships with external vendors or trainers as needed.

Administrative Duties:

  • Track and maintain records of training activities and participant progress.
  • Prepare reports on training metrics, budget expenditures, and ROI.
  • Manage training calendar and ensure timely execution of training programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as a training specialist or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles.
  • Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS) and other training software.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
