The Senior Training Specialist participates in the design, implementation and evaluation of system-wide training and development programs for VCUHS employees and leaders. This job serves as an advisor to management for planning and developing training and educational programs that promote VCUHS's mission, goals and corporate culture or training programs that specifically address departmental needs. In collaboration with the Training and Development Manager, this job also conducts training/educational needs assessments. The Senior Training Specialist devises curriculum/learning plan, develops program content, markets event, delivers or arranges for delivery of the training program and evaluates results. This position also facilitates and organizes New Employee Orientation bi-weekly.
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) preferred Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:
Current SPHR or PHR preferred Experience REQUIRED: Five (5) years of general experience in Human Resources, or
Two (2) years of professional level experience in training and staff development Experience PREFERRED: Four (4) years of professional level experience in training and staff development Education/training REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree in Adult Education, Human Resources Management, Healthcare Administration or related field Education/training PREFERRED: Master's Degree in Adult Education, Human Resources Management, Healthcare Administration or related field Independent action(s) required: Day-to-day training and development activities are completed with minimal supervision. Incumbents must be self-direct and able to manage daily workload autonomously. Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): N/A Additional position requirements: Depending on the project/workload, additional work hours and occasional evening and weekend hours will be required.
