DescriptionDuties are aligned with seasonal requirements and business needs. Position will be responsible primarily for revenue hours in non-peak season and assist with recruiting and training as needed. During peak season, will perform functions to provide supervision, counseling, coaching, evaluation, and training to ensure operational compliance for the agency.
- Monitors and ensures compliance with agency policy and procedure.
- Monitors and adjusts to ensure compliance with contractual performance and agency KPI's: On-time performance, route adherence, customer service, accident/incident, passenger counts, platform to pay.
- Assists management staff with recruitment efforts at the direction of the DOO, in accordance with any budgetary constraints.
- Assists with annual update of job descriptions, ensuring compliance with all local, State, and federal guidelines and regulations.
- Assist in maintaining safety compliance through on going training regarding both vehicle and facility safety
- Participates monthly in agency site safety council
- Further develops training materials, schedule, and requirements both existing staff and new hires.
- Implements and monitors any necessary training, as well as annual refresher training and new hire training.
- Responsible for onboarding process, facilitates classroom training and on the road training schedule.
- May assist as necessary in the new hire process, included scheduling required medical screenings or background checks.
- Evaluates trainees as determined by the agency criteria, responsible for local, state, or federal required documentation regarding employee training and education.
- Assists with screening and interviewing candidates for the agency.
- Other operations/supervision duties as determined by the needs of the business.
- Conducts on board evaluations of drivers, driving skills, safety issues and interaction with the public. Prepares and provides reports and training to address necessary activities, problems, complaints, and safety concerns.
RequirementsAssociates Degree, preferably in business, or equivalent experience.Experience:Equivalent of three years of experience in transit or motor truck operations coupled with responsibility for and/or training in dispatch, supervision and scheduling or two years of recent experience as a public transit operator.Other:Must hold at minimum a Class B Texas Driver License, Air Brakes, Passenger Endorsement
