Transport Engineer - NextGen | GTA: A Kelly Telecom Company : Job Details

What will you be doing as a Transport Engineer:

This role requires substantial experience in transport engineering, project management, and strong problem-solving and organizational skills. Responsibilities include developing and managing a monthly interconnect implementation plan to support macro, in-building, small cell, self-perform/third-party ODAS, 5G CRAN, VRAN, and MEC build targets.

• Place circuit orders with Local Exchange Carriers for various telecom services, including dark fiber, EOS, EBH, and TLS.
• Document transport circuits and paths using XNG/Granite/FUZE CND.
• Track the status of orders and escalate as needed to ensure timely completion.
• Plan, design, and implement the latest transport technologies in support of the 5G network rollout.
• Attend frequent project update meetings to report the current status of ongoing and pending projects.
• Manage vendors to ensure they meet network milestones and turn-up dates.
• Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to deliver the best transport solutions.
• Develop trackers via FUZE to improve data integrity, prioritization, and workflow.
• Coordinate with other groups' forecasts to ensure equipment growth projects meet expected demands.

What do you bring to the table as a Transport Engineer:

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience with XNG/Granite circuit database.
• Working knowledge of ASR ordering systems.
• Familiarity with interconnect circuit types and features, such as TLS, EMUX, Dark Fiber, and EOS.
• Knowledge of wireless 4G and 5G services, including architecture (3GPP option 3X, etc.).
• Project management experience.
• Understanding of centralized RAN, especially in urban environments.
• Knowledge of wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) technology.
• Understanding of IPV4/IPV6 addressing.
• Knowledge of licensed and unlicensed microwave technology for backhaul.
