Role Purpose Statement

We seek an experienced Transportation Supervisor leader who is also a people person, passionate about safety, and the go-to person for all things customer service related. As our Supervisor, you will manage a team focused on delivering quality products to our airline customers. You will also maintain relationships with our clients (aka airlines), ensure accurate billing and provisioning, monitor compliance with various regulations (FDA, HACCP, etc.), and ensure flights depart on time with delicious meals in tow.

Main Accountabilities

How You'll Make a Difference

  • Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, and directed and that all delivery times are being met timely
  • Schedule and control staff to meet labor productivity and overtime targets
  • Ensure compliance with all government regulatory agencies' standards (for example: Food and Drug Administration (FDA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Administration (EPA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), etc.)
  • Document and follow up on all department processes to implement improvements
  • Ensure on-time and accurate production and/or catering of all flights
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety regulations
  • Develop, document, and maintain flight attendant comment and delay database
  • Support the Executive chef in menu presentations as needed. Assist in Chef's table
  • Ensure par levels of customer inventory and customer-specific goods
  • Participate in special customer projects
  • Other duties as deemed necessary
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge preferred
  • One to three years of related work experience required in a management role
  • Problem solving and leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven success in improving work processes and leading change in a complex, fast environment
  • Demonstrable record of understanding and meeting customer expectations
  • Ability to develop and lead others to obtain desired results & achieve productivity goals
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), FDA, USDA and EPA regulations
  • Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills required along with the ability to multi-task
