Transportation Highway Leader will be responsible for the operations of the New York
REI, Resident Engineering Inspection Transportation group including project execution, staff development, profitability, moral, quality control and marketing support.
Other responsibilities will include:- Take responsibility for the operations of the REI Transportation/Highway Engineering group including staff development, profitability, morale, quality control and marketing support.
- Function as Program Manager and take responsibility for production on highway/roadway engineering projects in addition to management responsibilities.
- You must be comfortable being viewed as a technical expert in construction management/REI and have proven background of managing large construction transportation projects.
- Will be administratively responsible for the section staff and technical service functions and will lead and coordinate services with other sections.
- Will be involved in marketing planning, proposals and interviews. Be directly involved with clients in marketing, project production and related issues.
- See that all work is planned, organized, controlled and evaluated through proactive project management system.
- Implement, monitor and support company policy.
- Select, train, develop and manage multi-disciplined, technical personnel.
- Take administrative responsibility for section staff and technical service functions, and lead and coordinate services with other sections.
- Work cooperatively with Regional Managers and marketing staff in local and national marketing and production efforts.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required,
- NY PE is required, NJ is preferred.
- Minimum of 20 years project and management experience
- Must have strong client contacts and REI experience in the New York / New Jersey metropolitan area.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
- Strong preference for a candidate with previous REI experience, preferably on complex highway/roadway projects.
- Experience leading large REI highway/roadway projects is a requirement.
- Proven hands-on experience in all aspects of highway design projects.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills and ability to work with various teams.
- Strong communication skills and willing to work in a team environment.
- Candidates who reside locally in the metro NY/NJ areas are preferred.
