Role Purpose Statement

The Transportation Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the transportation operations of LSG Sky Chefs, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of food and supplies to airlines. This role involves coordinating logistics, managing transportation resources, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Main Accountabilities
  • Develop and implement efficient transportation strategies to meet airline schedules and operational requirements.
  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the transportation team, including route planning, vehicle scheduling, and driver assignments.
  • Monitor and analyze transportation performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, including DOT and FAA regulations, and maintain necessary documentation.
  • Coordinate with airline representatives and other stakeholders to ensure smooth transportation operations and address any issues promptly.
  • Manage transportation budgets, monitor expenses, and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Recruit, train, and develop transportation team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Collaborate with other departments within LSG Sky Chefs to ensure efficient coordination and communication.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation operations, preferably in the airline catering industry.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, including DOT and FAA regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Proficiency in transportation management software and systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
