Job Overview: The Transportation Analyst will play a critical role in optimizing SSF Imported Auto Parts' transportation processes. This full-time role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills to ensure that our transportation operations are cost-effective, efficient, and meet the service expectations of our customers. Key Responsibilities:
- Transportation Planning: Analyze and develop transportation plans that optimize delivery routes, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
- Data Analysis: Collect and analyze transportation data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with carriers and third-party logistics providers to monitor performance and ensure compliance with service agreements.
- Performance Reporting: Develop and maintain transportation performance metrics, generating regular reports for management review.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of transportation operations.
- Compliance: Ensure that all transportation activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including supply chain, procurement, and customer service, to support overall business objectives.
- Driver Training and Support: Assist in the training of drivers, ensuring they follow SSF Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Provide ongoing support to drivers and ensure efficient communication with third-party courier companies.
- Dispatch Team Training: Help train the dispatch team at SSF, ensuring they adhere to company procedures and maintain effective communication with the sales team.
- Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel for driver training and to assist with routes when needed. Travel will be less than 50%.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in transportation or logistics analysis.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices in transportation and logistics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the automotive parts industry or with a distributor.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to travel regularly to local warehouse locations by air or in a vehicle.
- Physically capable of sitting for extended periods to monitor computer applications.
